These terms explain the rules for using Take the Board and purchasing temporary control of a public fan message.
1. The service
Take the Board is an independent fan entertainment platform. A successful purchase gives you temporary control of the message displayed on a Take the Board board. It does not give you ownership of a school, team, trademark, board, website, advertising placement, or any other intellectual property.
Take the Board is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise associated with any university, athletic department, conference, or the NCAA.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be 18 or older to place bids and legally able to make purchases where you live. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in access secure and for activity performed through your account.
Before your first paid bid, you must confirm that you are 18 or older. Take the Board records that acknowledgement with your account and the purchase evidence for a successful paid takeover.
3. How a takeover works
You choose a board, submit a message, and place a bid. Messages are checked against the Community Guidelines before payment. Stripe may authorize a payment before the bid is finalized; an authorization is not the same as a captured charge.
Only a bid that is still valid and winning when finalized is captured and published. Every successfully captured takeover receives a guaranteed display window of at least 30 seconds. After that window, the message may remain live until another successful takeover, an approved moderation removal, or the end of the game week.
The game week runs Sunday-to-Sunday and resets each Sunday at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. At the reset, live boards and weekly standings start fresh for the next week. Your takeover history and all-time standings remain part of the game record.
4. Prices and payments
Prices are shown in U.S. dollars before you confirm. The minimum next bid is based on the current captured amount and any pending challenger. You authorize Take the Board to charge the payment method through Stripe for a bid that is successfully finalized. Take the Board does not store full card numbers.

5. Your content
You are responsible for the message and public board name you submit. You give Take the Board the permission needed to host, display, moderate, format, and share that content as part of the service. Do not submit content you do not have the right to use or content that violates the Community Guidelines.
6. Moderation and removal
Take the Board may reject, remove, redact, or restrict content that violates the Community Guidelines or creates legal, safety, fraud, or operational risk. A message may be reported by another user and reviewed by an administrator. We may suspend or close accounts that abuse the service, payment system, reporting system, or other users.
7. Changes and availability
The service, boards, game weeks, prices, rules, and availability may change. We may pause bidding, reset boards at the end of a game period, correct errors, or take the service offline for maintenance or safety reasons.
8. Service availability
Take the Board is provided as an independent fan entertainment service. We work to keep the service available and accurate, but boards, bids, and features may be changed, paused, or unavailable from time to time. Nothing on Take the Board creates an affiliation with or endorsement by a school, conference, athletic department, or the NCAA.
